![]() ![]() I feel Amazon is taking advantage of the post office and it is also taking advantage of small businesses by basically using our Postal System as their dumping ground. I understand we are dealing with something we've all never dealt with before, but they need to handle this situation way better. I blame the head honchos at the USPS for not being able to manage this horror show more efficiently. I know this sounds pretty dramatic, but I would want to catch Covid19 and die if I had to deal with the mess in one of the pictures I showed. I LOVE my local mailman and have always felt sorry for him because he works so hard. I feel really bad for all the postal workers who have to deal with this mess. I want to thank you for reply and hope you are staying safe. next facility.so I say " run little package run" they don't even have a good hockey n!!!! Please let us know what happens! Take care That your package has been sitting there the entire time.this is the official post office scan before it gets processed.than it should say departed to. I looked up your tracking number and I believe that " arrived May 19 in St. Thanks for want to thank you personally for this excellent piece and taking time out to post these pictures. We should not have to wait 11-30 days for a First Class or Priority Mail package to arrive. I understand we are dealing with a Pandemic here and post offices are short staffed, but for God's sake this is ridiculous. Here are some other screenshots I took from the mail carriers showing how inundated they are with Amazon packages that I saw on Reddit (r/USPS). Amazon packages are being given precedence over ours and our shipments are being held up while Amazon's are being given more importance over ours. Every time I have to ship something out, or order something on Ebay, I hold my breath not knowing how long it will take to arrive or once again go missing. Now with Covid19, not only are we mere peasants paying these outrageous shipping costs, to add insult to injury our customer's packages are taking forever to arrive, not being scanned or going missing. Since the USPS needs room on their tiny mail trucks for Amazon packages, we are being penalized for anything in a box over a cubic foot. I am being run out of business as other carriers are not that much cheaper. Most of my items are not even that large and generally go in boxes about 14"x12x"12". Items that only weigh two to three pounds and are light weight are being charged outrageous prices to ship. Anything going in a box over 12"x12"x12" is being considered over sized. We in return are subsidizing Amazon and are paying top dollar to make up for their losses.įor example, ever since the rates went up again, a package I send from the East Coast to the West Coast that once cost me around $15 to ship is now costing me on average $48-$58. He said that Amazon only pays the USPS $2 per package no matter how heavy or large it is. My mail carrier, whom I love, told me that Amazon is getting away with murder. If you are a seller on Ebay, Etsy or any other online seller, this is why a lot of our packages are not getting scanned and seem to be going AWOL or taking a very long time to arrive. He said Amazon is killing them! They are flooded with Amazon packages clogging everything up and bottle necking the facilities. I saw post on post on Reddit (r/USPS) and one of the postal workers showed a photo of what is going on behind the scenes at one of the hubs in New Jersey. Here is my original post so you can hear how another one of my USPS packages seems to have ended up going to the wrong place: ![]() I posted this on the shipping forum and somebody said I should show these photos on a separate thread. As I write this another one of my packages that I am waiting to receive from an Ebay seller has gone AWOL. ![]()
